Trish built a light box for me, and I am really enjoying being able to control the light in my studio. This is a quick encaustic "sketch" of the pears I drew last week.
I've been working on this one for a couple of months. It has about fifty layer of wax built up on the canvas, and lot's of clear medium dripped and burned into the surface. Yum.
I generally paint in series of three; this is the second in the 'p' series: pears, pomegranate, and what next, peach, papaya, prickly pear, plantain? Stay tuned.
There are so many varieties of fruits and vegetables available in California. I have a collection of these beautiful squashes, however, some get eaten before they ever get painted.
I went to my drawing class today and learned more on color temperature. I love my class and I also love going to Bakesale Betty's for a fried chicken sandwhich at lunch...yum!
I did this drawing to study color temperature. In this case, I'm experimenting without actual color, but rather the color of the paper, sanquine, black and white conte.
