Part 3 of 4 in the Daisy Series (4" x 4")
I met a friend downtown today for Heidi Swanson's book signing. Heidi has a blog called 101 Cookbooks. She writes about vegetarian cooking and comes up with some darn good ideas.
I love my town.

He's Sleepy Too! 18" x 24"
We continue to study color temperature in class. The little bits on the right side of the page are my notes as I attempt to learn this theory.

Habenaros 6" x 6"
These are the hottest peppers, ever.
We had an inspection today on our new flat. Next we have our TIC agreement looked over and after that we sign a truck load of papers and move May 1st. The photos are taken with a wide angle lens, so though it's 1100 square feet the rooms are not quite as big as they look.

6" x 6" More Kumquats
Trish brought some Habenero peppers home from the market today. They seem impossible to paint with beeswax, but stay tuned.

5" x 5" Kumquats
I picked up some kumquats at the Farmers Market today. You eat the whole fruit and experience the most complex combination of sweet flesh and sour skin. More evidence of Spring.

6" x 6" Apples
I had some Andante goat cheese and Fuji apples for lunch today and boy oh boy was it ever yummy.

5" x 5" Tomatillos
I measure the seasons by food now that I live in a place that lacks dramatic climate changes. Food and light. These tomatillos, also known as husk tomatoes, remind me Spring is here.

11" x 14" Tiger
I'm working on the Chinese Zodiac series and though this tiger still needs work, I'm making progress on the series.

Happy New Year!
My friend's and I did the Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt tonight. We had a great time wandering around the City looking for clues.

6" x 6" Fennel
My friend Ellen introduced me to fennel a few years back. It's good sliced thinly on salad, roasted, or sauteed. But my favorite fennel dish is pasta con sarde.
