I worked on this today with the intention of putting it in the new WC. Today was my first day of going off to Anderson Street to paint. I came home for lunch so it was a short day.
These pieces were made using plants I picked up on my travels in California. The Eucalyptus leaves are the thing that, even though not a native tree, really screams California.
I've had these hanging on my wall for a while and lately they've been getting a lot of attention so I decided to show them off. Stay tuned for the other two in the series.
I was organizing my studio drawers, as is my habit of late, when I stumbled upon a Chinese block painting of a man standing behind his ox. Not sure how this will translate in a larger painting but it sure is fun small scale.
I sneaked in a little painting between cleaning and packing the last bits of stuff. I found this piece of redwood in the basement, sawed it in half, and have another surface for tomorrow. Oh, have I said that I LOVE beets?
The background of this picture is very similar to the color we are painting over. I didn't realize it until just this moment. Good for the bananas, bad for the walls.
I needed an onion today for my tomato and feta cheese salad, and felt a little funny grabbing one from the light box. I don't think that's what the term 'edible art'refers to.
I noticed the cala lillies in full bloom in my garden this week. They grow wild here in Northern California. Some people think of them as weeds, I can't imagine.
Looking around for a reference on how to know which onion to when cooking, I came across the National Onion Association. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I'm guessing there's an association for just about everything.
