Gingko II

The second in the Gingko paintings. Perhaps there will be more, it's hard to say.

Gingko I

This is one of the final pieces for the bank exhibit. I'll be hanging on Tuesday so sometime after that, if you're in the Castro, stop by the Bank of America on the corner of Castro and 18th and see my work adorning the walls.

This one is also for Art For AIDS.

Watermelon

I am donating some work to the 11th Annual Art For AIDS benefit and decided to give them a fruit triptych. I re-worked this piece to give it more depth and a different back ground.

Final 24" x 36" Peaches

After a little over a week, the peach painting is complete. Or mostly complete. Usually, I'll continue to tweak little details until I'm completely satisfied.

Another Day With the Peaches

I think there is a day missing, but you can see that it is coming along.

More Stars 20" x 20"

I painted over one of the paintings with the little squares and tried to incorporate the squares into a new picture. I didn't like the colors or the size of the squares or anything at all about it. Sometimes it's like that.

Underpainting on a 24" x 36" Canvas

I thought I would share my process of making a painting. I started this two days ago, beginning by cutting the wood that I glue to the stretcher bars to brace the canvas. I then staple the canvas to the stretcher bars and begin painting by applying a layer of medium. I fuse each layer with a heat gun, beginning with that first layer of medium. I seldom know what I'll paint and frequently change the course as I go. This painting has about three layers of paint, and will likely see many more before it's completed. I'll keep you posted as I progress.

Stars and Circles II

I've had lot's of laughs celebrating my birthday this weekend! What fun. Many thanks to all the ironers, sewers, and napkin folders who produced 121 napkins on Saturday at the sewing circle.

Little Bird

Friday I turn 47, two numbers I often transpose. I wonder if that's common or my own little dyslexia. I think I like the way 47 looks a lot more than how it sounds. Happy Birthday to me!

Stars and Circles

I've begun this new series today. I'm really excited about this little break through as I've felt a little stalled lately. It's such a relief to come out of the other end of that.

The Year of the Rabbit

I am plugging away at the Zodiac series; this one with an attempt to create some action.

Plums Plums

I've started a new series today and in the mean time, the plums are still screaming!

Kooky Flower

We are nearly done painting our dining room. After three weeks and some strange bubbling the room has been transformed to my new favorite color. Yes, that's right, it's called aged agean which is a fancy way of saying light blue/green.

July Peach

They just keep getting sweeter. Today I had a white peach on my cereal and it was delicious!
Happy July 4th! Boom.
